Practice Details
Total Joint Specialists, with 8 offices in Midtown Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Braselton, Canton, Cumming, Gainesville, Lawrenceville, and Woodstock, Georgia, offers joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee, shoulder, and ankle using state of the art techniques in the industry. The surgeons utilize smaller incisions that cause less muscle injury and blood loss resulting in better recovery times. The team focuses on multimodal pain management to improve the recovery experience and minimize pain.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, and with medical consultation and direction, performs physical, psycho-social assessment; establishes medical diagnosis; orders and evaluate diagnostic tests; manages follow up care; does other related work as required. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, developing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting lab tests and results, along with providing preventative healthcare and counseling.
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic medical assessment of patients with real or potentially acute and/or chronic health problems, including a medical history and physical exam.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic studies, such as x-rays or laboratory tests.
- Establish a medical diagnosis for patients within the PA’s care.
- Perform and monitor therapeutic procedures outlined by the physician per physician-agreed standards.
- Counsel patients and families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and physician consultation when appropriate.
- Seek physician consultation when deemed appropriate and as outlined in Practice Protocols.
- Practice within the Physician’s Assistants Practice Act.
- Act as a resource to other healthcare staff.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- A college degree as a Physician’s Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school
- Please refer to the Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
- Two to five years of experience with a medical practice setting where diagnosis, treatment and patient education were the main focus of the role
Work Hours:: 4/10 hour shifts
