Vascular Surgical Physician Assistant

Overview:
AP Health is a private practice comprised of advanced practice providers. We provide perioperative services to hospitals, surgeons, and surgery centers. We partner with hospitals to offer service line coverage with highly trained and knowledgeable advanced practice providers to perform history & physicals (H&Ps), inpatient care, and first assist in surgery.
AP Health is seeking a highly experienced Physician Assistant to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. A successful candidate is experienced in vascular surgery and open to learning other areas of surgery.
This job is a strictly a “surgical only” position with no clinic time.

Reports to the Senior Vice President
Responsibilities:
- Functions as a Surgical First Assistant in the Operating Room
- Positions and drapes the patient under the direction of the surgeon
- Suturing and retracting of all tissue layers
- Demonstrates good knowledge of anatomy
- Assists in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
Qualifications:
- Current Florida State Licensure
- Board certified by NCCPA required
- Current BLS required / ACLS is a plus
- Greater than 2 years, highly skilled multiple specialties in the area of First Assisting
