Two respected private OBGYN practices in Winter Park are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our teams in a unique, collaborative, hospital-based night position.
This unique position offers a predictable schedule of Monday through Thursday nights (7 PM–7 AM) with no weekends, no office hours, and no daytime responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for a provider seeking exceptional work-life balance.
**Position Summary**
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will provide overnight in-hospital obstetric coverage for two established private OBGYN practices.
**Responsibilities**
As our overnight CNM, you will serve as an essential member of the obstetric team by:
- Providing in-house overnight obstetric coverage for two private OBGYN groups
- Evaluating and managing obstetric triage patients
- Admitting laboring and antepartum patients
- Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and hospital staff
- Managing labor and performing vaginal deliveries within the CNM scope of practice
- Answering overnight patient calls and urgent clinical concerns
- Completing morning postpartum and rounds prior to shift completion
- Ensuring timely and accurate medical documentation
- Providing compassionate, evidence-based care to our patients and families
**Practice Highlights**
- Approximately 50 deliveries per month between both practices; 30% occur overnight
- Average triage volume of only 2–4 patients per night
- Established, physician-led private practices with strong nursing support
- Collaborative and team-oriented culture
**Schedule**
- In-hospital coverage only
- Monday through Thursday nights
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Four shifts per week
- No weekends
- No office responsibilities
**Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree in Nursing Midwifery
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a practicing midwife with hospital deliveries
- Experience serving as a first assistant for cesarean sections is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative MD/CNM practice model
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care
**Licensure and Certification Requirements**
- Valid Florida APRN license (or ability to obtain)
- Certification by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges at AdventHealth in central Florida
**Language Requirements**
- English (required)
- Spanish (preferred)
