Job OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care through precise specimen collection, patient support, and clinical assistance. Duties
- Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary techniques, ensuring proper labeling and handling of specimens
- Prepare and process laboratory specimens accurately for testing, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support patient assessments
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care activities, including setting up exam rooms and documenting medical information
- Maintain thorough knowledge of physiology and anatomy to perform procedures effectively and understand patient conditions
- Follow laboratory procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
Requirements
- Proven laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen processing
- Hands-on clinical laboratory experience with proficiency in phlebotomy and blood sampling methods
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and hospital protocols
- Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture (blood draws) accurately and safely in a clinical setting
- Experience taking vital signs and applying aseptic techniques during specimen collection or patient interactions
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient care and teamwork
