Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our emergency medicine team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, immediate care to adult patients experiencing acute health issues. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and support staff to deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a clinic setting. Your expertise will help stabilize patients, perform diagnostic evaluations, and coordinate ongoing treatment plans while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgent care needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, etc.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with valid licensure in the state of Florida.
- Demonstrated experience in emergency medicine, primary care, or urgent care settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for documentation and order entry.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, assisted living residents, hospice & palliative medicine patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards; familiarity with infection control practices is required.
- Additional skills such as telehealth experience, triage expertise, behavioral health management, pain management techniques—including acute pain control—and case management are advantageous.
