Full Job Description

The Physician Assistant will work in accordance with the Radiologists to provide exceptional patient care and assist in the day-to-day clinical operations. Must able to adapt to various clinical situations and perform a variety of complex procedures. Responsible for enhancing patient care by assisting the Radiology Physicians in the performance of various procedures, usually under image guidance, in the Interventional and diagnostic imaging environment. The PA has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs and also involves other care partners (radiologist, referring providers, staff support) as needed to help ensure the appropriate provision of clinical services. Scope of work is ultimately defined by the supervising Radiologist and facility in which assigned. Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for performing procedures under general and proximate supervision and E&M within the scope of proactive of a radiology PAand as outlined on the delineation of privileges.
  • Operates computerized and diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting with training of new PA hires to include clinical responsibilities and procedural skillset.
  • Participates, collaborates, and actively engages with PA administration, radiologists, and hospital staff to achieve goals and mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Involved in clinical work managing complex patients through advanced decision making, interpretation of laboratory values, assessment of radiological studies, clinical evaluations, and procedures.
  • Serves as an educational and clinical resource to staff as well as to patients and their families.
  • Assists with formulation of policies and protocols as they relate to PA team and clinical workflow based off established guidelines.
  • Light emergency call rotation will be required once trained and credentialed. PA will work a reduced work week to compensate for being “On Call” every fourth week worked, Monday through Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. MT. Call includes reporting to facility for diagnostic procedures as required. Assumes other duties as assigned by Operations Committee.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for organizing time and workload to manage all service lines.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all patient records and information to ensure that patients’ rights are protected at all times.

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate level education
  • For PA position – Certification by the NCCPA, ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Certification via ANCC and/or AANPCB. Certification by the ACLS, BLS, PALS. Current DEA Registration
  • One year clinical experience required in surgery, trauma, critical care, vascular, experience with clinical procedures and inpatient/outpatient consultations preferred
  • Certification of Colorado Fluoroscopy Operator via the completion of an approved fluoroscopy training program
  • Clean MVR is required.

  • Apply critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to function effectively and adapt to a dynamic and often changing work environment including multiple hospital facilities
  • Direct Clinical Experience
  • Adept with EMR, PACS, and dictation systems
  • Effective utilization of clinical equipment to include US/Fluoro/CT/Sherlock
  • Highly motivated, ability to work with little supervision

Work Requirements:

  • Working in a hospital, outpatient facility or diagnostic imaging center.
  • Moderate amount of lifting, reaching and bending. Position requires walking and standing 75% of time.

Benefits:

  • 1st Year $10k retention bonus: $5k is payable on the 1st payroll cycle following the employee’s 6th month anniversary of their start date if all eligibility requirements have been met. The remaining $5k is payable on the 1st payroll cycle following the employee’s 1-year anniversary of their start date if all eligibility requirements have been met.
  • 2nd Year $10k retention bonus: Payable on the 1st payroll cycle following the 2nd year anniversary. Employees must be in good standing and not be on an improvement plan.
  • Total of 8 weeks paid time off: 5.8 weeks of vacation, 6 holidays, 5 days CME.
  • Up to $2,500 per year in reimbursement for CME related expenses

Pay: Up to $118,000.00 per year
