Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with health care professionals and patients.
2. Must have working knowledge of common desktop computer software, including basic familiarity with Electronic Medical Record and tablet based health record systems and have a general knowledge of audio-video recording systems.
3. Must be able to function independently, make sound judgment calls, and be able to practice within the full scope of the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License
4. Must have an active Driver’s License and the ability to drive to the local Renal Replacement Therapy (Dialysis) centers.
Required Qualifications
(Physician Assistant) Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
or (Nurse Practitioner) FNP and National Certification required
2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare deliver
3. LICENSURE:
(Physician Assistant) California Physician Assistant License and NCCPA Certification required
or
(Nurse Practitioner) FNP and National Certification required
4. HEALTH CLEARANCE: Must submit all required health related documents prior to employment. May be required to maintain annual records for items such as TB clearance.
5. BACKGROUND CHECK: A background check may be initiated that may include criminal, employment, educational, and financial history.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and to talk or hear. The employee is regularly asked to sit, use hands to operate a PC in the performance of job duties, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop. The employee regularly lifts or moves objects, which weigh up to 10 pounds and occasionally may move or push up to 25 pounds. The special vision requirements of this job are close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must maintain Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that satisfies the requirements of the WesternU Vehicle Use Policy
Duties are routinely performed in an environmentally controlled interior healthcare office. Work environment may involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials, e.g., blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, and ionizing radiation. Clinical environments require compliance with safety precautions, OSHA Blood borne pathogen training, and may include the use of certain personal protective equipment.
To secure employment, successful fulfillment of a background check, including a criminal records check, may be required. Western University of Health Sciences will extend a conditional offer of employment, subject to rescission if the background check unveils disqualifying information or if it is found that the candidate deliberately withheld or misrepresented information. Non-completion of the background check to satisfaction may impact the ongoing employment of a current Western University of Health Sciences employee who received a conditional offer for the position.
Pay Transparency Act: Western University of Health Sciences is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as the Expected Pay Scale. Placement within the Expected Pay Scale is determined by internal equity, and relevant qualifications.
