Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Mobile Wound Care Services

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Mobile Wound Care Services team. This role involves providing high-quality wound care to patients in various settings, including homes, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work independently in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for wound management.
  • Perform wound evaluations, including debridement and dressing changes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and injections.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Athenahealth.
  • Educate patients and families on wound care techniques and health management strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an active state license.
  • Experience in acute care settings such as hospitals, emergency rooms, or critical care units is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical documentation, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and utilization review processes.
  • Familiarity with telehealth practices and EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical skills in areas such as suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and vital sign assessment.
  • Knowledge of various medical specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, and infectious disease care is advantageous.
  • Experience with specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin treatment, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatment, or pain management techniques is a plus.
