Full Job Description

Our Urology Group which provides services via 5 offices in Southern Orange County California is seeking a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner. The successful candidate will be capable and interested in providing hospital rounding and in office services.

Orange County Urology is the preeminent Urology Group in Southern Orange County California. The Group consists of 12 urologists, most are fellowship trained; all are boarded; and four physician assistants. The position requires excellent clinical skills, flexibility, willingness to travel among our offices and great team work.

Essential Functions: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  • Performs comprehensive history of patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data including health history, results of examination, and appropriate notations of services rendered.
  • Assesses patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, doing physicals, monitoring therapies, and giving injections and medications.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, fulgurations, and other procedures as designated by the physician.
  • Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests, X-ray, and interprets test results including but not limited to semen analysis.
  • Utilizes and conducts research/inquiry appropriate to clinical setting. Conducts physical examination and compliance with protocols for clinical trial patients.
  • Responds to emergencies including use of CPR
  • Documents patient information and care provided in patient record.
  • Educates patient and families as appropriate through counseling and education materials. Provides continuity of care.
  • Consults, and works with staff as necessary. Provides staff education formally and informally.
  • Maintains a current level of clinical practice by selection of appropriate avenues for professional growth and maintains a minimum of 100 hours of medical education credits every 2 years to achieve NCCPAA re-certification requirements.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality as per HIPPA regulations
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Authority Boundaries: Reports directly to the Physicians.

Supervision Exercised: None

Education: Graduated with a BA/BS. Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program or nurse practitioner program.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $125,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
