Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Company Overview:We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Life Care Planning Specialist. This role focuses on evaluating individuals with catastrophic injuries, chronic illnesses, and complex medical needs to develop comprehensive life care plans that support long-term medical, rehabilitation, and supportive care needs.

Position Summary:The Nurse Practitioner – Life Care Planning Specialist will conduct comprehensive medical reviews, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop evidence-based life care plans for patients requiring ongoing medical management and future care projections. The ideal candidate has strong clinical experience, excellent documentation skills, and knowledge of medical-legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical record reviews and patient assessments
  • Develop comprehensive life care plans outlining future medical and supportive care needs
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, attorneys, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Research and project future medical costs and treatment recommendations
  • Prepare detailed written reports and supporting documentation
  • Participate in case conferences, depositions, and expert testimony if needed
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards and legal guidelines
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices and life care planning methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
  • Experience writing final narratives and Life Care plans
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in rehabilitation, case management, catastrophic injury, neurology, orthopedics, or chronic care strongly preferred
  • Certification in Life Care Planning (CLCP) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
  • Proficiency with medical documentation and report writing

Preferred Experience:

  • Medical-legal consulting experience
  • Knowledge of Medicare Set-Asides and future care cost projections
  • Experience working with attorneys or insurance carriers
  • Expert witness experience is a plus
