Full Job Description

Addy’s Colors Health is a growing, patient-centered practice in Newport News, VA offering integrated behavioral health, mental health therapy, medication management and primary care services across the lifespan. We are seeking a confident, self-directed Nurse Practitioner to join our team and serve a diverse patient panel — from pediatrics through geriatrics.

This is a unique opportunity for a clinician who is ready to practice with significant autonomy. You will manage your own schedule Monday through Friday, build meaningful relationships with your patients, and deliver holistic care that bridges mental health and physical wellness. You will be connected to a team of mental health therapists to provide collaborative mental health support for your patients and their families. You will be responsible to supervise a mental health care coordinator that supports your medication management patients for resource and checkin. You will be supported by a lead NP and a remote collaborating physician, with minimal day-to-day oversight — this role is best suited for someone who is confident in their clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. If you have a CMA that you want to recommend as your assistant, we are also hiring a CMA for this role’s support.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric and primary care services to patients across all age groups
  • Conduct independent clinical assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe and manage medications including psychiatric medications, with appropriate monitoring
  • Provide medication management for behavioral health conditions including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, and more
  • Coordinate care with counselors, specialists, and community providers as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR (Jane)
  • Collaborate with your lead NP and remote attending physician through scheduled check-ins and as-needed consultation
  • Build lasting, trust-based relationships with your patient panel over time

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills — you should be comfortable working with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining open communication with lead NP and collaborating physician
  • Comfort working across behavioral health and primary care settings
  • Experience with or willingness to serve pediatric through geriatric populations
  • Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn EHR documentation (Jane App experience a plus)

This position begins as part-time. As the caseload increases, we intend that this position will become full-time with benefits.

Submit your application. Please include your resume and a brief note about your clinical background and why you’re drawn to integrated behavioral health and primary care. We review all applications and will be in touch within 3–5 business days. We do require at least 4 professional references.

Pay: $55.00 – $65.00 per hour
