Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) for a 14-week OR travel assignment in an acute care hospital setting, with Cerner proficiency and robotics experience required.
Details
- Acute care hospital OR setting
- High-volume OR with a broad surgical caseload including orthopedics (total joints, scopes, TSAs), urology, GYN oncology, robotic surgery (DaVinci), neurosurgery (spine, craniotomies, VP shunts, transsphenoidal tumors), vascular, general surgery, ENT, bariatrics, and ophthalmology
- Day shift, 4×10-hour shifts per week
- Call required, including potential call on weekends (every other weekend)
- Forced call rotation in place; activated only when a shift cannot be filled voluntarily — considered a rare occurrence
- Float required between two hospital campuses
- Cerner EMR used; experience required
- 12-hour orientation
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
- Active certifications required: BLS and ACLS — pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RNFA or OR experience required
- Robotics (DaVinci) experience required — considered a deal-breaker if not present
- Experience in ortho, neuro, and GYN required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years — must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Valid driver’s license required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
