We are looking for a motivated Physician Assistant to participate in diagnoses and treatment of health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As a Physician Assistant, you’ll be ensuring the best patient care possible. Our provider is needed to assess, advise and treat patients with primarily musculoskeletal and orthopedic complaints. They will also be involved in the overall wellness of patients including lifestyle modifications, management of orthopedic conditions and provide supportive care with an integrated team model. The Physician Assistant would be seeing patients in an integrated physical and preventive functional medicine office. This opportunity encompasses a multidisciplinary approach including medicine, physical therapy and chiropractic working together towards the same patient goals. NO NARCOTIC PAIN MANAGEMENT!! Soft tissue and joint injection experience preferred but not required. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm and Friday 7:00am-12:00pm. We are looking for a PART-TIME to start, moving into FULL-TIME role as the practice demands during these hours.
The job description of a physician assistant includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests, ordering specific modalities and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthier lifestyles. You should have experience in one of the following Physician Assistant specialties: acute care, orthopedics, neurology or family medicine. Clinical experience is vital. As a Physician Assistant, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests ( X-rays, blood tests, etc.)
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Propose treatments for acute and chronic conditions
- Perform procedures within the office setting
- Prescribe medications( NO NARCOTICS)
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on conditions and prevention
- Oversee patients’ general health
- Promote good health practices
- Advance professional knowledge and conduct clinical support as team leader
Skills
- Proven experience as PA in an outpatient clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Patience and compassion for a diverse population
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Valid New York State Physician Assistant license
- Master’s degree
Pay: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
