Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Bariatric Surgery OR & Clinic

Location: The Better Weigh Center / Metabolic and Bariatric Affiliates / Better Way Wellness5826 Esplanade Dr. #102, Corpus Christi, TX 78414

Position Overview

We’re seeking a mature, motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) who’s driven by patient outcomes, lifelong learning, and teamwork.OR experience is a plus, but we’ll train the right candidate with the right heart.You will assist in the operating room, conduct hospital rounds, and along with a second clinic based physician extender, provide post-operative clinic care to bariatric surgery patients—no medical weight loss responsibilities are expected.

Responsibilities

· Surgery Support (Mon/Tues):

· Assist the operating surgeon during robotic bariatric procedures. Robotic experience is valued, but not required.

· Hospital Rounding (Mon–Fri):

· Conduct rounds with the surgeon for post-op patients and new consults from the ER or hospitalist team.

· Clinic Care (Wed–Fri, 9am–5pm):

· Care for post-op bariatric surgery patients using well-established protocols.

· Gather and review patient histories, labs, radiology, and clinical data.

· Document all patient encounters and communications.

· Review outpatient results, provide summaries to patients, prescribe basic nutritional supplements, and take action with surgeon input.

· Program & Team Involvement:

· Actively participate in program development, patient education, and community events.

· Support front office function and performance.

· Represent the practice at local events, conferences, and outreach.

What We’re Looking For

· Licensed as an NP or PA in Texas (or eligible)

· Team-oriented, but able to excel independently

· Strong, engaging communicator with a non-judgmental approach to patients with obesity

· Motivated to learn and grow; experience in surgery/robotics is a plus, not a must
