About Us
We are three companies with a singular mission—helping Corpus Christi’s families unlock healthier, happier lives through advanced bariatric and wellness care. Our tight-knit team, led by Dr. Lloyd Stegemann, believes every patient deserves time, empathy, and a partner for their transformation. If you went into medicine to help people, this is the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the health of South Texas.
Better Weigh Center stands alone as Corpus Christi’s only truly comprehensive weight loss center, integrating both medical and surgical options under one roof. Our sister companies—Metabolic and Bariatric Affiliates and Better Way Wellness—allow us to offer every patient a personalized path to health, whether they need metabolic guidance, surgical intervention, or ongoing wellness support.
