Full Job Description
- The Surgical PA will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- The Surgical PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first-line provider to patients and their families.
- Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs.
- Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. First or second assist in surgical cases.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program- OR- Master’s degree in nursing
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)- OR-Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse
- Current ACLS or BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
